Recycling centres are great places to get rid of your hard-to-recycle items that can't go into your council recycling bin, and shouldn't go to landfill. 

​Our Community Recycling Centres in Snells Beach and Wellsford accept a wide range of materials, including recyclables that can be re-manufactured or re-purposed sustainably, good quality items for re-use, general waste and green waste.  Our Wellsford site only accepts select recyclables - click through to the page to see what you can bring in.  We can only accept recycling waste from residential and small business customers.  ​Vehicles over four tonnes are not permitted.  We cannot accept hazardous waste, clean or hard fill.  

We recommend pre-sorting your load by material before arrival - this means we can price your drop-off quickly and accurately, and you'll have an easier time unloading into the correct areas.  We're always in the yard and ready to help if you have a question or need a hand.

Recyclables we currently accept:

• cardboard and paper
• clean glass bottles and jars (sorted by colour)
• tin and aluminium cans (food grade)
• single use plastic containers (#1, #2 & and large #5) from the kitchen, laundry and bathroom (empty and rinsed)
• metal and whiteware appliances
• timber
• beds
• tyres​ (free up to 5pcs, off the rim, charged if on the rim or over 5pcs)
• scrap metal
• ​household batteries (alkaline and lithium) and vehicle batteries (excluding e-scooter and e-bike batteries)
  

• e-waste (anything with a cord, motor, or electrical parts, drained of fuel / oil)
• clean polystyrene
  
• fluorescent tubes and bulbs​
• silage wrap
• soft plastics
• Liquid Paper Board / Tetra Pak / food + beverage cartons
• food scraps (no compostable bin liners or compostable packaging)
• Plastic and metal caps + lids
• Green / garden waste (including harakeke flax, ti kouka cabbage tree and bamboo)

We do NOT accept:

• any asbestos containing materials or other hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, oil etc)
• clean fill, hard fill, clay, topsoil etc
• fibre cement board that may contain asbestos​
• old gas bottles and fire extinguishers
• damaged, leaking or bulging batteries
• odorous waste or animal remains

Our prices are based on volume, not weight. Prices are the same at both sites. Please sort your loads by product type and compact well to get the best value for money.
